Medieval London
Medieval London. London again became a thriving port under the Normans and Plantagenets. Merchants, monks, tradesmen and thieves flocked to the city; it boasted of dozens of trade guilds and hundreds of churches. And like all medieval cities it was overwhelmed by its own filth and pollution, a perfect breeding ground for the Black Death of 1348.
